Counting down to Christmas!
This is the last gift guide of 2019 because…
Christmas is next week! 🎄
Today I’m sharing my best, “tried and true” last-minute gift ideas. They are easy to find and give but most importantly, your friends and family will love them.
Good news! You don’t have to fight traffic or race through the stores like a crazy lady to get these last-minute gifts.
The gift that almost anyone is happy to receive: MONEY
This one may seem obvious (and maybe a little boring) but the magic is in how you give it!
You can find these supplies at your neighborhood Walgreens or such.
Here are three fun ways I’ve given cash as a gift:
1- Hidden inside an umbrella (similar to this)
2- Hidden inside a box of candy- remove the candy, fold the bills up small, and put a bill in each of the candy spots. Write on the gift-tag: My momma always said, “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.”–Forrest Gump 3- Placed in a small picture frame (like this one) with the folded bills arranged so that Benjamin, Andrew or Ulysses’ face is in the center of the frame.
Gifts of Convenience for Busy People 🙂
I was talking with a mom friend the other day about books that we have read and loved. She told me she hasn’t had time to sit down and read in the past year.
She really misses it.
I asked her if she ever listens to audiobooks and she asked me, “Where do you find those?”
I thought everyone knew about Audible and she didn’t! So, I told her to put an Audible membership on her wish list.
I love my membership. You’ll find me listening to books in my car, while I’m walking the dog or folding laundry.
You don’t need any special tech devices to use an Audible membership. Use the free app on your phone, tablet or laptop.
Some of my recent Audible favorites:
What Alice Forgot, Something in the Water, and Start with Your People
I’m a big fan of two meal kit companies and I think a gift card to either one is a great Christmas present for busy moms, young professionals, and well, anyone who likes to eat!
I’ve been a long time Hello Fresh customer.
Here’s what you need to know:
The food is delicious and top quality.
The meals do require some prep like making sauces and some chopping but all the ingredients are included in the kit.
Here’s the link to Hello Fresh meal kits and their gift card options.
I have gifted Dinner A’Fare meals to my son who was away at college, taking a full load of classes, working part-time, and living in an apartment with a tiny kitchen.
This all added up to him eating out way too often. He missed home-cooked, healthy meals, so I gave him a Dinner A’Fare gift card. He loved it!
Dinner A’Fare meal kits are delicious but (IMHO) simpler to prepare than the Hello Fresh kits.
Plus they offer single-serving prepared meals that just need to be heated up.
Check out Dinner A’Fare!
Click the Gifts tab on their site to learn about their gift cards. They have great service, so be assured you’ll get a real person if you call or email them with questions.
Experience Type Gifts
Last Christmas, I gave my sister a gift certificate for a food tour (www.flavorsofatlanta.com) in Atlanta. She lives there, so I drove down on a Saturday in January to go with her. We had a great day doing something totally different together.
a ghost tour, a history tour, a film festival, a concert, or cooking classes that someone on your list might enjoy.
Do research online to find a fun option. If the site doesn’t provide a printable gift certificate, make your own, and wrap it up.
To make it extra special, go along.
Spending your time with a loved one is the very best present you can give. ❤️
For just about any gift you might need last minute
You can order as late as Monday the 23rd (that’s the eve of Christmas Eve!) and your Amazon order will arrive in time to put under the tree.
Here’s a fun Amazon trick. Amazon shares a list of their best selling items and it’s updated every hour. It’s interesting to see what’s hot at the moment. You can view the best sellers by categories also.
I just noticed this early Christmas gift I bought myself is #1 in the Beauty category as of this morning!
Wishing you and yours’ happy gift-giving (and receiving)!
PS) If this was helpful, will you please share it on Facebook?
PSS) I’m an affiliate with Amazon, so I could receive a commission if you buy using one of my Amazon links. It’s at no cost to you and any commissions I receive helps me pay for my blog expenses. 🙂
